The weather in summer creates perfect conditions for strolling about Warsaw. It is the best time for spending free time in the city. The capital bathed in sunlight offers lots of attractions which guarantee great memories. Which places are worth visiting? Check out our suggestions.
The sun, sand and water are undoubtedly associated with summer. That is why the Vistula, the queen of the Polish rivers, comes to one’s mind instantly. You can find several prepared beaches in the city where you can enjoy the sand, rest on comfortable deckchairs and play beach volleyball. Beaches near to the National Stadium, in Saska Kępa, Płyta Desantu, Praga and Żoliborz gathers fans of the riverside charms.
The Vistula has also many summer cafes, bars and clubs. Warsaw has recently experienced a revival in this area. The residents again come to the river which attracts crowds of enthusiasts with its soothing swoosh. What are the best places to sit, drink something refreshing, dance and listen to good music? You have to visit Temat Rzeka which is located on the beach by Poniatowski Bridge, on the Praga bank. An interesting design of the place and a spacious terrace quickly draw attention. Parties organised there are very popular. On the right side of the Vistula, BarKa is moored to the bank. In the evening it constantly rocks to the music thanks to dancing waves of the river. Next, Pomost 511 which is located by the gate of the Czerniakowski harbour. It is a very interesting coffee bar club which has a lot to say during the season. Another dancing suggestion is La Playa, famous for hot summer hits. Those who are aiming at something more elegant and sophisticated should visit the BoatHouse restaurant (389 Wał Miedzeszyński) which occupies a picturesque green area right next to the Vistula. The local cuisine has won over many guests. It is also a perfect choice for families with children – the place offers numerous attractions for the youngest ones. More active people can go cycling (they can use for example urban Veturilo bikes) and choose one of the routes by the Vistula or fight with the waves armed with a canoe and a paddle. We should also mention natural habitats of plants and animals, something unique for such big city. The river still has many unregulated sections in the city where you can admire natural beauty.
The Vistula, despite being beautiful, can be treacherous, that is why Warsaw offers something else for those who like swimming and fun in the water. The capital invites to outdoor swimming pools in Inflancka complex (8 Inflacka street), Basen Moczydło (69/73 Górczewska), Powsin (1 Maślaków) and to the swimming pools in Szczęśliwicki Park.
