You will be surprised to find out that The Jolly Boys have been performing for the last sixty years. The band was formed in 1955 in the north-east of Jamaica and is the oldest mento group in the world. You probably wonder what mento is; it’s an early form of ska music. Don’t be misled by these grandpas, they still have lots of energy on stage. The band had its ups and downs but nothing had made them stop playing. The Jolly Boys is probably the most popular for their album from 2011 “The Great Expectations” presenting covers of rock songs with Jamaican twist. If you like Iggy Pop or Amy Winehouse then you will definitely enjoy their songs in new style.
