Pod Globusem Bookshop

Located at the corner of Długa and Basztowa, inside a historic house, bookshop Pod Globusem is one of the most important symbols of Kraków. A metal globe crowning a clock tower is associated by residents of Kraków with the bookshop Pod Globusem, a true cult place.

The amazing interior of the modernist building is packed with books from the floor to the ceiling. The offer of the bookshop contains works of all types – belles-lettres – poetry and prose, reportage, history books, academic books, guidebooks, cookery books, guides, albums, fairy tales for children. A famous Polish architect – Romual Loegler – is responsible for the design of the bookshop after its reconstruction in 2010.

The interior combines simple modern forms with references to tradition and historical character of the building. In the seat of the bookshop, numerous events related to education and culture, meetings with authors, classes for children, debates, and discussions are held.
