Fun and science at Hydropolis
Hydropolis is a unique knowledge centre, which combines educational values with modern forms of exhibition.
It helps discover the processes that involve water – from the functions it serves in the human body to oceanic currents, which shape the climate on Earth.
Hydropolis is a place where multimedia technologies, interactive installations, exact replicas and models as well as touch screens rich in information have one purpose – to present water from various fascinating perspectives.
In one of the 9 thematic zones, you can watch a film on a panoramic 360 degree screen, enter the legendary bathyscaph Trieste – the first manned vessel to reach the deepest place on the Earth – or check out on your own how ancient water inventions work. The thematic zones are: the planet of water, the depths, the ocean of life, relaxation zone, man and water, the history of water engineering, the city and water, the states of water and temporary exhibitions.
After such a huge amount of knowledge and attractions, you can rest in an illuminated deckchair in the relaxation zone, where walls are covered with moss to imitate the Amazon Rainforest and calming sounds of rainforests are played from the speakers.
And if you’re visiting this place in the summer, make sure to get wet under Europe’s biggest 57-metre long water printer.
If you like jokes, by the entrance you will find Pepper the humanoid robot, which has a couple of them up in his sleeve.
Hydropolis’ offer includes workshops, project classes and theme walks for organised groups. There are two cafes with warm and cold drinks as well as snacks. A souvenir shop can be found right next to the entrance to the exhibition.
Hydropolis is a must see place if you’re in Wrocław!
