MOCAK Museum of contemporary art

The museum of contemporary art MOCAK in Kraków is a complex whose aim is to present and popularise international contemporary art, carry out research related to art, and minimise prejudices against the works of contemporary art.

Among the artists whose works are displayed in MOCAK, we can find names such as Marina Abramovic, Tymek Borowski, Dóra Maurer. The exhibitions include works of different media – painting, film, photography, sculpture, installation. Apart from typical museum activity, MOCAK focuses on artistic education in order to popularise the idea of a society open to art.

The museum organizes workshops for various age and social groups, museum lessons, competitions. There is also library by the museum which is involved in promoting conscious reading.
