The best lobsters and oysters in Warsaw? Only in L'Arc Varsovie at 16 Puławska Street!
PLACE The restaurant was founded in Mokotów 3 years ago out of love for seafood and exquisite French cuisine. The sign “les saveurs de France” (trans. − “The flavours of France”) welcomes all guests but is not an exaggeration − L'Arc specialises in French cuisine, focusing in particular on serving what comes from the sea.
DISHES Poles think that oysters and lobsters are expensive. They are wrong, very wrong. In L’Arc, a plate, i.e. six oysters, costs PLN 45, while lobsters can be ordered already from PLN 99. On Saturday, you can choose the “Eat as much as you want” menu for PLN 119. The restaurant is open seven days a week, and seafood is delivered directly from France and the Netherlands on request. Shipments are arranged by the restaurant on its own to guarantee that the food is always fresh. In L’Arc Varsovie you can try 5-6 best types of oysters (not only pure – from the sea, but also baked – e.g. with Bayonne ham). The cooks prepare lobsters in various ways (e.g. with cocktail or citrus sauce, baked with Béchamel sauce, or – if you are a particularly demanding gourmand – with sturgeon caviar). The menu also includes fish, mules as well as meat dishes and soups. As far as the dessert is concerned, you can expect crème brûlée or white chocolate cheesecake. If you have never eaten a lobster or oysters, the staff will gladly tell and show you everything you need to know to make sure everyone feels comfortable.
LIQUOR French cuisine obviously combines with alcohol. In that respect, L’Arc has anything and everything: from perfect wines (not only French, this restaurant is the only one in the capital where you can try Sliding Hill – a fantastic white wine from New Zealand), through the best Armagnac (Castarede) and calvados (e.g. Chateau Du Breuil), to cognac (e.g. Hennessy).
