Planty is a cult park surrounding the Old Town and covering 21 ha.

Established where defensive walls used to be in the past – in the immediate vicinity of Planty you can find such monuments as the Barbican, Wawel, the Palace of Fine Arts, a concert hall, and the Collegium Novum. Planty consists of 8 gardens. In the park, you can come across numerous monuments and sculptures – “Owls” by Bronisław Chromy, a monument of Boy-Żeleński, a monument of Grażyna and Litawor (characters created by Adam Mickiewicz), a monument of Jan Matejko, and many, many more.

This unique urban garden is a perfect place for a walk down the oldest part of Kraków. The stand of the park is rich and various – many types of trees, bushes, and other plants grow there – chestnut trees, maples, ash trees, elms, poplars, as well as planes.
