Ahimsa is a word in Sanskrit which means mainly not harming people nor animals. A restaurant in Wrocław under the same name specialising in vegan cuisine, in which no products of animal origin are used, is run according to this philosophy.
The menu of the restaurant is inspired by Near and Far East cuisine. Among the dishes served on a daily basis, you can find classic Near East food – hummus, falafel – as well as Asian dishes – Chinese vegetables in wok and sushi. If you are really hungry, it is worth ordering large plates full of delicacies – Arabic mezze with aubergine paste called baba ghanoush and couscous salad (tabbouleh) or Indian thali, made of rice, bread, delicious spicy vegetable sauce. The menu is short and changed on a daily basis, therefore, seasonal ingredients are taken into account.
Ahimsa is one of the few places in Wrocław where you can find not only delicious vegetable cuisine but also a wide range of high quality alcohol – various craft beers and organic wines. Located nearby the Market Square, the restaurant is a great place for a family dinner as well as an evening meeting with friends. If you are planning a large party, you can rent the lower room with the capacity of 50 people, catering and sound system.
