On 8 June, an early music concert performed by the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra conducted by Andrzej Kosendiak is going to take place in the Warsaw Philharmonic. The programme includes three unique Johann Sebastian Bach cantatas:
Cantata Schleicht, spielende Wellen BWV 206 – written in honour of Augustus III because of his visit in Leipzig in 1794.
Cantata Laβ Fürstin, laβ noch einen Strahl BWV 198 – a funeral ode written for the funeral service after the death of Christiane Eberhardine, the wife of Augustus II the Strong.
Cantata Tönet, ihr Pauken! Erschallet, Trompeten! BWV 214 – a birthday gift for Augustus III’s wife – Maria Josepha
