Young conservators | workshops for children aged 8–12
Come to the Wilanów Palace and participate in family workshops devoted to art conservation! During the workshops, children will become assistant conservators – they’ll go to warehouses and palace rooms wearing aprons, feet protectors and cotton gloves to check the state of pieces of art. In the practical part, they’ll have the chance to put the conservation techniques into practice.
The cycle of six workshops will begin in the Warehouse Gallery – an unusual collection warehouse, which is open to visitors. We’ll learn modern techniques of conservation, i.e. taking care of pieces of art. What’s more, we’ll take a closer look at and inspect objects which have been stored in closed warehouses. Each meeting will be devoted to a different type of art: paintings, paper art, fabrics, wood art, ceramics and clocks. We’ll check what is beneficial for them and what should be avoided to help them impress people in the next centuries.
