Autumn at Teatr Wielki is going to be rich in unique events. One of them is the premiere of a new adaptation of Stanisław Moniuszko’s legendary opera “The Haunted Manor”, which is going to take place on 8 November 2015.
The opera directed by David Poutney presents a brand new view on Moniuszko’s libretto. Instead of the times of Sarmatian Poland, the plot takes place during the Interwar period, a time when the whole state was relishing its independence. Such a change brings out a unique character of the masterpiece. How it will be received? Time will tell.
