Natalia Sikora and Zbigniew Zamachowski at Teatr Polonia.
At Teatr Polonia, the theatre season lasts all year long, therefore, two interesting premieres await in June. The first one is “Piękny i nieczuły” [Handsome and insensitive] featuring Natalia Sikora and Paweł Ciołkosz (22.06). What’s really unique about it is the fact that it was written by Jean Cocteau for Edith Piaf herself. Edward Wojtaszek managed to very skilfully carry over the play to our scene.
The second interesting play is Hašek’s “Dobry Wojak Szwejk idzie na wojne” [The Good Soldier Švejk goes to war] with Zbigniew Zamachowski as the main lead. The cast also includes: Milena Suszyńska, Marcin Bubółka, Krzysztof Dracz, Mirosław Kropielnicki, Henryk Simon and Michał Zieliński. The performance is directed by Andrzej Domalik, an outstanding artist who has prepared various plays in Krystyna Janda’s theatres, including “Maria Callas. Master Class”.
