We're going shopping: interesting streets in Warsaw

Is it time for shopping? If so, you really have to visit Mokotwska street, which has been one of the most fashionable places in the capital for several years. Apart from wonderful architectural and historical values (you should check the local tenement houses and atmospheric yards), the street offers lots of boutiques (also those which belong to the most popular designers), shops with interior decoration elements and other fashion showrooms. No wonder that it is sometimes called “Rue de Rivioli of Warsaw”.

Let us start with coffee and delicious breakfast in modern Saviour Square and then it is all about the joy of shopping! Mokotowska is a paradise for fashion enthusiasts. That is the place where you should go if you are looking for projects of the largest Polish designers: Maciej Zień, minimalistic Ania Kuczyńska Krystof Stróżyna, full of loose chic Robert Kupisz or lovely  Rina Cossack. What is more, places such as Atelier Mokotowska 63 with selected collections from all over the world, Tara Jarmon's boutique, famous for French style, Agent Provocateur lingerie, Massada with stylish glasses, Designer Secret with world famous designers’ projects for the lowest prices,Salon Mokotowska 71, that offers the most luxurious decor equipment, and Be My Lilou with wonderful personalised jewellery bellowed by Poles can be found. The last but not least about Mokotwska – Three Crosses Square. There, shops of brands such as BurrberyHugo BossLacoste,ArmaniFurla and Marc Cain are opened. The square is just few metres away from the luxurious Domu Handlowego Vtikac, which has the largest “high fashion” offer in Poland.

Nowy Świat, which later turns into Krakowskie Przedmieście that leads to the heart of the Old Town, is not worse than Mokotwska street. This area is full of souvenirs as well as bits and pieces typical of Warsaw. Magical Neptunea offers interesting products such as jewellery, ambers, seashells, sculptures and other things. Although Nowy Świat is dominated by restaurants, cafes and pubs, there is no lack of shops with clothes, boutiques with jewellery and leather accessories. At the beginning of the street, right next to Three Crosses Square, you will find elegant salons of PinkoMax Mara and MontBlanc, which offers luxurious pens and watches. Carrying on, you will come across Bally boutique with elegant bags and footwear, a multimedia Empik salon, Frey WillePandorę, with modern jewellery designs, Galeria Desa, that specialises in selling old jewellery, iSpace Salon and a H&M Store. If you get hungry while shopping, you will not complain about the lack of various restaurants.

The same atmosphere is present in a street which is perpendicular to Nowy Świat – Chmielna. You will also find there many gastronomic (and other interesting) places worth the attention. Chmielna invites, for example, to Cepelia which offers folk and artistic handicrafts, Horsecka boutique with artistic jewellery, and several other multi brand shops. Apart from them, you can find there shops with lingerie − ItnimisimmiLi ParieDouglas perfume shop and a large store with toys and goods for children – Smyk.

One of the most popular streets in Warsaw is of course Marszałkowska, which is adjacent to Parade Square where the monumental Palace of Culture and Science is situated. Opposite to it, Wars i Sawa shopping centre is opened. It has shops such as ZaraH&m,ReservedHome&you and TKmaxx. In search for more boutiques, head for Constitution Square. Closer to Metropol hotel, Cepelia shop and Excelsior, a luxurious salon with jewellery, can be found.

Those who visit Mokotów can go shopping to Puławska street. At its beginning (by Union of Lublin Square), operates new PLAC UNII City Shopping, full of interesting shops. Apart from that, Puławska has several good service points and shops with everyday items that are located on the ground floors of the local tenement houses. It is a completely different atmosphere from Mokotwska street, for instance. Local trade develops there. Many second-hand shops are situated in Puławska. Wzorcownia draws attention, it offers vintage stuff. There are also many offers by the most famous designers, for example Vivienne Westwood.

If you are going shopping in Warsaw, make sure to prepare your wallet – with such offer you can quickly overdraw your account.
