Vitkac:exclusive department store in Warsaw

Vitkac is the most exclusive fashion house not only in Warsaw but also in entire Poland. It has been opened since November 2011. There had been too few places gathering the biggest fashion designers in the city before. Nowadays, you can go shopping with style and luxury in the very centre of Warsaw, in 9 Bracka street, surrounded by the most important outlets in the city. The name of the department store relates to an unusual Polish artist, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz (also known as Witkacy), who used to live there. It is also worth mentioning that the street was famous for its commercial character. The owners’ ambition was to revive the pre-war tradition.

Wolf Bracka building is an elegant black streamlined construction which stands out in comparison to other, mainly white, buildings in Warsaw. Materials such as granite, quartz, exotic wood and stainless steel were used to build the place. The whole looks rather minimalistic. Some people find the design of the building outstanding, whereas others claim that it does not match the surroundings completely. Wolf Bracka architecture, four stories full of outstanding collections by world famous designers guarantee successful shopping, even the most demanding customers will be pleased. Five mono brand boutiques: GUCCI, YVES SAINT LAURENT, LANVIN, BOTTEGA VENETA, DIESEL are at guests’ disposal. Apart from DIESEL, these are the first shops of each brand in Poland. Dozens of other brands can be found on shelves of multi brand boutiques: ALEXANDER McQUEEN, ANN DEMEULEMEESTER, BALENCIAGA, BALMAIN, BRIONI, CÉLINE, CHLOÉ, CUTLER AND GROSS, DAMIR DOMA, DANIEL ANDRESEN, DIANE VON FURSTENBERG, DRK SHDW, DSQUARED2, DRIES VAN NOTEN, EMPORIO ARMANI, GARETH PUGH, GIORGIO ARMANI, GIVENCHY, JIMMY CHOO, JOHN GALLIANO, LA PERLA, MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA, MARC JACOBS, McQ ALEXANDER McQUEEN, PAUL SMITH, RICK OWENS, SILENT, STELLA McCARTNEY, VIKTOR&ROLF.

You will find shops with interior equipment and furnishings on the third floor. These are: FENDI HOME, MISSONI HOME, BAXTER, FLEXFORM, DRIADE, MATTEOGRASSI/BONACINA PIERANTONIO, GUBI, PASTOE, MANOOI, DAVIDE DROPPI, BAROVIER&TOSO, TERZANI. Luxurious furniture and accessories (mainly from Italy) will surely please even the most demanding customers.

You can go to one of five food establishments after successful shopping. The one located on the top is particularly noteworthy. Thanks to glass walls, in Concept13 you will see a view of urban “theatre” of Warsaw everyday life. It serves modern cuisine, what is more, it is possible to partially participate in cooking thanks to a half-open kitchen. Those who do not have much time to spare can drop by to Bar Szampański 13 on the ground floor, where you can buy a glass of champagne.

Vitkac department store is opened from Monday to Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The building has also its own underground car park.
