Saska Kępa – where to eat?

Saska Kępa is an exceptional place. You can go for a walk here at every time of the day. It is distinguished by lots of mysterious streets, close to the queen of Polish rivers, and many interesting spots to visit. After a walk, numerous restaurants await to quench your thirst and satisfy your appetite. We shortly present you three restaurants worth the attention.

Pikanteria

A local joint with home atmosphere and home-made food. Particularly popular and recommended are borscht with uszka [small dumplings] and pierogi prepared in a stove. Prices are reasonable, a main course costs 20-35 zlotys. If you want to escape for a moment from coca-cola and other similar beverages, Pikanteria will help you. You can taste here wine made of black elderberries, home brews and cups ‒ everything is home-made. It is a great place for fans of Polish food, wine and singing because every Friday live music is played in the restaurant.

Boathouse

Location on the bank of the Vistula is really something, that is why the restaurant is based on marine theme. The main elements of the design are a boat for several people and a glass wall, you can see a wild bank of the Vistula through it. Although prices are high, a main course costs 40 zlotys or more, dishes served in the Boathouse are really worth it. Mediterranean cuisine dominates ‒ you should try tiger shrimps in cream sauce. Trattoria Rucola

Do not be fooled by its address [French street], Italian cuisine is served here, so pizza, bruschetta and pastas. A main course costs around 35-45 zlotys. Fresh mussels (45 zlotys) are available on certain days. The design of the restaurant is interesting − walls are plastered with leafy and grassy photograph wallpaper which contrasts with furniture, ceiling and floor, that are all white.
