The Palace of Fine Arts from the end of the 19th century is the seat of the Kraków Society of Friends of Fine Arts.

A unique combination of architecture, decorative art, sculpture, and other artistic media provides a result in the form of a building unique on a world scale which combines styles such as Art Nouveau, modernism, and Symbolism. On the western side, there is a garden from 1903, which is a part of Planty Park, adjacent to the Palace. In the centre of the garden, there is the Monument of Artur Grottger designed by Wacław Szymanowski. It is a fantastic supplement of numerous sculptures and busts situated in the building.

The edifice serves as the “temple of art” – it makes it possible to complete goals of the Society, including promoting Polish art, popularising pieces of art, supporting young gifted artists, organising exhibitions, and making areas available for other artistic activities. Exhibitions related to various currents of old and contemporary art, competitions, events, vernissages, and meetings with artists and art historians are frequently held in the Palace.
