Sergei Profokiev’s opera “The love for three oranges”, directed by Michał Znaniecki, is going to be staged in the Krakow Opera on 24 and 25 April.
The show full of humour and grotesque was based on a Italian fairy tale, whose plot takes place in an old people’s home, by Carlo Gozzi, presents a “theatre inside a theatre” effect as well as introduces some elements of modernity to the opera. The story, which takes place in the world of fantasy, takes form of a satire of contemporary cultural and political reality.
